The Good Morning Nags are an Americana and indie-folk band based in New York City. Growing up near pecan trees, red clay, and winding rivers, the Nags bring the front porch to the concrete stoop, mixing Old Crow Medicine Show and the Avett Brothers with a whole lot of city swagger. After initially forming while in college together, they got their official start busking in New York's subways, parks, warehouses, and rooftops, before upgrading to the local clubs and venues, like Rockwood Music Hall, Opry City Stage, and The Cutting Room. In December of 2018 they released their first full-length studio album with producer Erik Samuelson and Three Crown Studio before embarking on their first US tour in 2019. Just before the the Covid shutdown, the Nags released a music video for their song “Hard Hope” and were featured in the March 2020 issue of Relix Magazine, alongside The Wood Brothers and Drive By Truckers. After a recording hiatus, they released their newest single “Stay” on March 17th, 2023.

Stay tuned for their upcoming 2023 tour dates!

reviews

"Their sound is like a classic folk-rock/bluegrass-meets -The Struts with a little bit of NYC attitude thrown in there for good measure… It’s evident that the bandmates have fantastic chemistry, and are having as much fun creating and performing their music, as it is to listen to it."

Review Fix

"The Good Morning Nags are an incredible band and a live show is something you don’t want to miss out on should you be lucky enough to catch one."

Stereo Stickman

"...brings back Americana in a way that is accessible, and very different from most of the music coming out of NYC"

Left Bank Mag

“…an exquisitely original meld of traditional Appalachian folk music and contemporary country swagger…”

No Depression

Is it folk? Is it Bluegrass? Is it some sort of Rock amalgamation? Whatever it is, it’s fantastic.
