We had a blast recording our new single, “Stay” at Three Crown Studios on 12/10. After being out of the studio since 2020, it was fantastic to be back and work together on a new release. We’ve been spending a great deal of time writing over the past two years alongside our regular shows and are excited to share more as we record.
The original idea behind “Stay” came from some chord and lyric sketches by Ben Quinn back in 2018. At that time, we were dabbling in a variety of genres within Americana and adding a bit more of a country feel to our mix. However, with Hard Hope in full swing, we tabled this song for a different time.
In a concentrated writing session in January 2021, Tim and Ben uncovered the sketches, fleshed out the rest of the piece, and brought it to the rest of the band who instilled it with nuance, drama, and bounce. We’re excited to come back with a song that is dear to our hearts, that makes us want to sing along, that has all the lifts and levels we seek, and that reaches its hand out towards you, the audience.
